So, it's been over a year since I have posted on this lovely blog I started. I thought I'd update you all on what I've been up to.
I work at a work renowned aquarium. ( I can't legally say the name or I could get fired, bullshit right?) Yea I know, totally badass right? yea not really. I'm a sales ambassador, or HR's way of making a cashier sound "valuable." Basically anyone with a brain can do this job. I also moved back home. I've lost all semblance of an independent life. I moved home, took a low paying part time job, and have no leads on a career.
Enough of me bitching, here is what has happened that is exciting. I worked as in intern in an Amazon based exhibit. I was able to gain experience with all kinds of freshwater fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and bugs. I got to feed arowana, turtles, snakes, and frogs. How awesome is that?! Yea pretty badass. I fed animals that could kill me. I miss it. ALOT. Working behind the scenes has made me realize several things:
1. Guests can s my d.
2. I love animals
3. I want to spend my life doing this.
4. It is impossible to get a job until someone dies or has a baby.
These realizations are very frustrating. I chose a career that has way more qualified candidates than jobs, not unlike many fields today. I will probably spend the next year rotting in my current shit job until I MIGHT get a part time job doing what I want for shit pay. sigh... The joys of wanting to work with animals.
Other things I have been up to. I started breeding crested geckos! They are surprisingly easy to breed and I will dedicate a later post to my cresties. I've successfully raised 12 babies and rehomed 9 of them which to my knowledge are all still alive.
I also bought a mini corgi. yea that's right, MINI corgi. She's only 1/3 the size she should be but I won't complain. She's small enough to not get in the way and sturdy enough if I trip on her she won't break.
I have been experimenting with the temperament of my betta fish by subjecting it to unwanted roommates. so far is going well. I will also have a nice post about bettas in the near future.
Other than that, I spend my time selling things on eBay. It's a wonderful way to make some easy money if you have things you don't want anymore. I've gotten so good at it I'm starting to do it for other people.
Look for more posts in the future about animals, life, and other shit.
